Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCCL) reported net income of $764.1 million in 2014, a 61% jump from the year before.

Revenue rose to $8.1 billion, from $8 billion.

In a statement, RCCL Chairman Richard Fain said the company was having a good but typical Wave season of 2015 bookings. The company forecasted 2015 net income in the range of $1.04 billion to $1.08 billion.

Currency translation losses from a stronger dollar are offsetting gains from lower fuel prices, RCCL noted.

Results from 2015 include an unexpected gain of $33.5 million from tax law changes in Spain.
